Security plans found in hotel

LONDON, May 25 (UPI) -- Security plans to protect Prime Minister Tony Blair from terrorist attack during an upcoming Labor Party conference were found in a Manchester hotel room.

The Evening Standard said Thursday the documents, part of a folder detailing possible attack scenarios - including suicide bombers - were apparently left in the Midland Hotel in Manchester and given to a local newspaper, which in turn handed them over to police.

It was not immediately clear who found the documents, which were reportedly marked "Restricted" and "Confidential." It was also not yet clear who had left the papers in the hotel.

The Greater Manchester Police said despite the security blunder security for the September meeting had not been compromised. It also said no threats to the conference had been identified.
