COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- The man who admitted in an online video to being drunk when he was involved in a fatal car collision pleaded guilty Wednesday in an Ohio court.

Just as he had promised in his YouTube video, Matthew Cordle, 22, of Columbus pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, WCMH-TV, Columbus, reported.

In the video, Cordle confessed to killing 61-year-old Vincent Canzani in June. Cordle said he was drunk when he drove the wrong way on Interstate 670 and collided with a vehicle driven by Canzani.

Cordle turned himself in Sept. 9.

He faces a maximum sentence of 8 1/2 years in prison.
