New Hampshire man allegedly robbed cabbie, calls company for another taxi

Nov. 22 (UPI) -- A New Hampshire man was arrested and accused of robbing a cab driver after he allegedly called the company back and ordered a new cab to the same location where the robbery occurred.

Brandon Gorgone, 25, was charged with robbery and appeared in court on Friday.

Gorgone told the judge he wanted to represent himself, even though he was advised to get a public defender.

During the alleged robbery, Gorgone told a driver from Queen City Taxi to pull over as he was approaching 29 Reed Drive in Bedford and robbed him of his cash, cellphone and keys.

About 15 hours later, Queen City got a call.

"The taxi company got a call for a pickup at 29 Reed Drive," prosecutor Bill Thornton said. "It was a young male voice, the same as earlier in the day, so at that point, the Police Department was contacted by the taxi company. The taxi showed up, but instead of having a regular driver, it was a police officer who was driving."

Gorgone's bail was set at $15,000 and he told the court it was unlikely he would be able post it.
