June 20 (UPI) -- A family in rural Scotland is in the market for a new nanny after their "haunted" house scared off five live-in sitters in a year.

The family recently posted a job listing on a British childcare website, looking for someone to live at their home in the Scottish Borders and take care of their two young children. They're willing to pay their sitter well, the family said, because of the strange occurrences that seem to happen on their property.

Five nannies have quit within the last year, according to the posting, all "citing supernatural incidents as the reason, including strange noises, broken glass and furniture moving."

The family said they've known the house had a haunted reputation for almost ten years, but cautioned that they haven't experienced anything out of the ordinary themselves.

"We haven't personally experienced any supernatural happenings, as they have been reported only while we've been out of the house," the family wrote.

The job pays an annual wage of 50,000 pounds, or about $63,000, and includes 28 vacation days. The family posted an update saying people have sent them more than 2,000 messages about their opening.

The founder of the childcare website, Childcare.co.uk, told the Daily Mirror that the job listing is a legitimate advertisement.

Richard Conway called the listing "probably the most interesting story we've heard."
