Florida golfer's ball knocks duck out of the air

May 10 (UPI) -- It wasn't quite a birdie.

An amateur golfer at a famous Florida course was filmed making a once-in-a-lifetime shot that knocked a flying duck out of the air.

Ryan Gray was teeing off Monday at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, where The Players Championship is due to begin later this week, while being filmed by friend Todd Shannon.

Gray takes his swing and a low-flying duck suddenly flies into the video's frame and directly into the path of the ball.

The golf ball scores a direct hit, causing the duck to fall lifeless into the water.

"Did that just happen?" an astonished onlooker asks.
