"11.55pm - Officers have found a car in a multi-story lost since June; driver visiting city parked it but couldn't remember where," the tweet said. "Driver apparently spent five days searching car parks in the city before reporting as lost/stolen."
Police said the car's owner told investigators a friend had borrowed the vehicle to attend a concert in Manchester, and after the show the friend discovered that they couldn't remember which garage contained the BMW.
The person spent five days searching for the car, but with no luck. The owner emailed various local authorities and towing companies, but no one had any information on the missing BMW.
The car was reported as lost/stolen in August and there was no further word on its whereabouts until officers stumbled on the apparently abandoned vehicle Friday night.

"We can't imagine what the ticket machine is going to say when they finally put the ticket in - £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££" police joked in a follow-up tweet.
Officers contacted the owner, who police said could face a parking charge of more than $6,000 when they pick it up from the garage.
