BIRKENHEAD, England, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- British authorities are searching for a masked super villain who identified himself as the "Silver Shadow" after taking a 100-mph ride on top of a train.

The British Transport Police said a man seen boarding the exterior of a train between two cars about 1:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Rock Ferry station in Birkenhead, England, was recorded by CCTV cameras seven minutes later riding on top of the train as it passed through the Bromborough Rake station.

The man got off the train at Bromborough Station at 1:39 p.m. and was approached by workers in the station's booking office. The man, whose face was concealed, identified himself as the "Silver Shadow" and told the workers he had traveled from Birmingham.

Police said the train reached speeds of 100 mph while the masked man was riding on its roof.

"Even attempting to get on the top of a train is a nonsensical and idiotic thing to do," Police Constable Andrew Richardson said. "The man concealed himself between two carriages above electrified rails and so one slip could have easily killed him and endangered the lives of those on the train."

"This isn't cool, it isn't funny, it's dangerous and we will not stand for it. If you recognize the man in these pictures, please get in touch," Richardson said.
