PORT ORFORD, Ore., Oct. 12 (UPI) -- A group of kayakers out paddling in the early morning captured video of a gray whale surfacing mere feet from their boats.

The video, uploaded to YouTube by SouthCoastToursLLC, shows the kayakers enjoying the waters off Port Orford, Ore.

One of the kayakers lets out a sound of shock and joy when a gray whale surfaces and clears its blowhole mere feet away from the boats.

"Check out this gray whale coming close to our South Coast Tour under Orford Heads," the video's description reads.
