Humpback whale nearly collides with British Columbia fishing boat

LANGARA ISLAND, British Columbia, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- A man fishing in British Columbia waters captured the moment a humpback whale surfaced so close that it nearly struck the small boat.

Trevor Ryan posted a video to YouTube showing the Sept. 3 incident off the Langara Island coast.

Ryan said he was fishing with his father and a tour guide when the humpback breached next to the boat.

The whale surfaced two times for Ryan's camera and showed off its massive tail before swimming underneath the vessel.
