Dog hitches 'turtle taxi' ride on patient tortoise's back

SAN DIEGO, March 10 (UPI) -- A San Diego pet owner shared video of her patient tortoise serving as a low-speed taxi for her lazy but ingenious small dog.

Christina Robles, aka Artist Esmeralda, posted a video to YouTube showing her small dog, Sunshine, taking the "turtle taxi" courtesy of Nicholas the tortoise.

Robles' YouTube channel features numerous videos of the crafty canine hitching a ride on the back of her slow-moving friend.

Nicholas has also been known to carry other items around the back yard -- most notably a sombrero.
