MELBOURNE, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- A fan of Australian musical duo Peking Duk found a creative way to gain backstage access to the group's performance in Melbourne Wednesday night.

Peking Duk fan David Spargo bypassed backstage security by producing a falsely edited Wikipedia page that listed him as one of the band's family members.

"Last night someone edited our Wikipedia page to say he was our family," a post on the band's Facebook page read. "Showed security at our show, got into the green room and had a beer with the boys...Spargo you legend."

While member's Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles were generally impressed with Spargo's stunt, Hyde told The Guardian that it presents an example of why people should "never trust Wikipedia."

"It was probably the most genius, mastermind move that I've ever witnessed," Hyde said. "It's crazy. He just did it on the spot in a second on his phone."

The band enjoyed Spargo's company so much that he and Styles reportedly exchanged phone numbers.

Spargo topped off the interaction by nonchalantly commenting "Thanks for the evening lads" on the bands Facebook post.
