PRAGUE, Czech Republic, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Czech Post officials said a delivery driver who appeared in a viral video throwing packages out of his van onto the street has been fired.

The video shows a Czech Post delivery driver throwing packages out of the back of the van onto the pavement after the customer who shot the video asked him to look through the truck for a parcel that was supposed to be delivered.

The customer told Czech newspaper Blesk the driver initially said the package would have to be picked up at the post office and became angry when the customer insisted he look through the truck.

Matyas Vitik, a spokesman for Czech Post, confirmed the video's authenticity.

"The video is not a hoax," Vitik said. "A worker, who had never been the subject of a complaint before, has had his employment terminated."

"He was sorry about the whole thing," the spokesman said. "But unfortunately for him this was serious and indefensible conduct. It was not in line with the high standards of the post office."
