Plane makes near-sideways landing on runway

Videographer Steven Boocock said he recorded two failed approaches prior to the near-sideways landing.

LEEDS, England, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- A man filming planes at Leeds Bradford Airport in England captured footage of a plane landing in a near-sideways position amid 60 mph winds.

The plane, which landed at the airport Friday, swung back and forth with intense turbulence brought on by 60-mph winds, but was able to make a safe landing on the runway after touching down at a near-sideways angle.

Steven Boocock, who filmed the footage and posted it to YouTube, said he also recorded two wind-related failed approaches at the airport prior to the landing..
