SUSSEX, England, June 25 (UPI) -- A foodie with football tickets paid more than $7,000 to make sure that he would have food from his favorite Indian restaurant while he was visiting Brazil for the World Cup.

Mustafa Azim informed Chilcha, an Indian restaurant in Sussex, that he wanted them to provide curry dishes for 12 of his friends during the tournament.

In order to make it happen, Azim, who owns the aircraft company Imperial Air Salvage, chartered a plane so he could pick up the takeout.

"I thought he was making a joke. I couldn't believe it. In the beginning it was a little bit funny for me," Chilcha owner Mohammed Wahid told the Worthing Herald. "I said how can this happen?"

In addition to paying for the curry and charter flight, Azim also paid for a flight to Brazil, landing fees and other transportation costs.

Chilcha's food impressed Azim while he was working on the Tom Cruise film The Edge of Tomorrow, where Wahid was serving as caterer. "He came over to the film set and we enjoyed a fantastic meal," Azim said. "It was definitely good quality. It just tasted really nice. It tasted right."

Azim is expected to touch down with the food in Brazil on Wednesday.

"We are from Bangladesh and on a regular basis we eat curry and rice, and fish is part of our diet," Azim said. "There's not a single restaurant in Brazil that does it."
