AMHERST, Mass., June 23 (UPI) -- A Massachusetts woman called police on Sunday after one of her neighbors allegedly called her up and criticized her for making a racket while watching the World Cup.

Amherst police received a call from the unnamed woman after she received a "call from a neighbor scolding her for taking jobs away from Americans," The Republican reported.

The man was apparently upset because the woman's World Cup watching was affecting his ability to watch a NASCAR race. He also told her that her soccer-related noise was drowning out his attempt to listen to Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The woman, who is from South America, was unable to determine who had placed the call because the number was blocked.

Although the woman did call police so that the incident would be documented, she informed the cops that she felt safe enough to remain at home with her child.

According to a police report, the man did call her a bad name but he didn't make any direct threats.
