RED BANK, N.J., Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Ashley Dupre, the "escort" whose relationship with New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer made her notorious, plans to sell lingerie on the Jersey Shore.

Femme by Ashley is scheduled to open in May in Red Bank, just in time for the summer season, the New York Daily News reported. Red Bank, on the Shrewsbury River, is about 15 miles north of Dupre's hometown, Belmar, N.J.

The town is no stranger to celebrity. Filmmaker Kevin Smith, who made his first movie, "Clerks," at a convenience store in nearby Leonardo, owns a Red Bank comic book store, Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash.

Ming Chen, who manages the store, is looking forward to the opening of Femme by Ashley.

"I'm excited as any hot-blooded American male can be," Chen said.

Spitzer resigned as governor after news broke of his $4,000-a-night assignations with Dupre at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington.

RedBankGreen.com said Dupre and her current boyfriend, asphalt magnate Thomas Earle, are signing vendor agreements for the lingerie business.
