BRISBANE, Australia, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- An Australian man who bared his buttocks to Queen Elizabeth during the monarch's visit to the country was fined $800.

The court heard Liam Warriner, 22, displayed his bare buttocks with an Australian flag held between his cheeks while running alongside the motorcade carrying the queen and the duke of Edinburgh during their Oct. 24 visit to Brisbane, The Guardian reported Tuesday.

Warriner said the act was a political protest he would repeat for "any self-propagating elitist," including U.S. President Barack Obama and Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard.

Warriner was fined $800 for making a public nuisance, but was spared a criminal conviction.
