BIG LAKE, Alaska, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Alaska state troopers said they arrested a man who allegedly used an ax to cause $200 in damage to a snow plow.

Plow driver James Ross told troopers a man with a "maul-style ax" ran in front of his vehicle while he was plowing snow Nov. 6 in Big Lake and swore at him before using the ax to strike the door of the truck, The Anchorage Daily News reported Thursday.

Ross said he drove away from the scene and gave officers a description of the attacker.

Trooper Wallace Kirksey talked to a homeowner about an hour later and the man told him his son had confronted a snow plow truck driver earlier in the day after his car was plowed in with snow.

Vernon Logan, 44, was found inside the home and arrested on charges of third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was ordered held in lieu of $5,000 bail.
