LONDON, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- The BBC said coverage of Prince William's wedding to Kate Middleton will not be affected by recent budget cuts.

Jana Bennett, BBC Vision director, said the "potential delays" to the state-owned company's planned television series of events due to the budget cuts will not have an effect on the April 29 royal wedding, The Guardian reported Friday.

Bennett said the wedding will receive "due prominence ... this will be a big-scale event."

She said the main event will be broadcast on BBC1, while BBC3 and other stations could be involved in covering other topics surrounding the nuptials.
