ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Senior LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey Thursday earned the Lombardi Award as the nation's top college football interior lineman.

It was the second major honor this week for Dorsey, who Monday claimed the 2007 Bronko Nagurski Award, which is given yearly to the best defensive player in college football.

"It's a huge honor to be named the best lineman in the country," Dorsey said on the school's Web site. "There are a lot of guys out there that work as hard as I do and are just as deserving of this award. I am humbled to think I would be chosen, especially considering the quality of players who surround me."

Dorsey also is a finalist for the Outland and Bednarik Awards.

Other finalists for the Lomardi were Ohio State linebacker James Laurinaitis, Virginia defensive end Chris Long and Michigan offensive lineman Jake Long.

Dorsey led the LSU defense with 64 tackles -- 11 1/2 tackles for loss -- and six sacks.
