Supernatural Czech terror attack

PRAGUE, Czech Republic, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Czech special police secured an airport after a fortune teller warned of a terror attack, a move now hurting the Czech interior minister.

When the fortune teller in a crystal ball saw that Prague's airport would be bombed by terrorists, she called the emergency hotline of the city's police and informed them about her vision, Germany's Tagesspiegel newspaper said.

Officials sent an armored vehicle and a special team armed with automatic weapons, but they left after several hours when nothing unusual happened.

By then, however, the political damage had already been done: Czech Interior Minister Ivan Langer had told reporters at an international conference about how swiftly Czech security officials were able to react to immediate threats.

The supernatural anti-terror move was mocked by Jiri Paroubek, the opposition leader in the Czech Republic, who said the interior minister will likely consult with "fortune tellers or read his tea leaves" before making important decisions. Paroubek called for Langer's resignation because of apparent incompetence.
