On Saturday morning, after a neo-Nazi party in Sangerhausen, near Halle, the men are suspected to have thrown three Molotov cocktails into the apartment of African asylum seekers, the newspaper said. Luckily, no one was injured, as the affected room was empty.

The two suspects are known to police because of previous crimes in connection with Germany's neo-Nazi scene. Authorities expect further arrests in connection with the attack.

Neo-Nazi crimes in Germany have surged in 2006, according to latest statistics. In the early 1990s, a series of attacks on asylum homes threatened domestic security in Germany.
