India, Pakistan hold border talks

The Hindu newspaper said Wednesday that this second trans-border bus could be operational within the next three months.

"They also agreed to operationalize additional (bus) routes, including that between Poonch and Rawalkot," said a joint statement.

"(The) two sides also exchanged (an) indicative list of items that could be traded across the border by the previously agreed-upon truck service," said a member of the Pakistani delegation, adding he hoped that a timeframe for the implementation of cross-border trade would be announced in a joint statement Wednesday.

Cross-border trade is likely to begin in the next few months.

The head of Pakistani delegation, Syed Ibne Abbas, said two rounds of talks were held Tuesday and a third round on Wednesday.

The officials are expected to discuss the opening of two meeting points along the Line of Control, so that members of divided families are able to interact with each other.
