"Germany has certain concerns over the deal and they will be suitably addressed," said senior foreign ministry official Shashi U. Tripathi.

She denied that Germany was opposed to the civilian nuclear deal, saying the economic relationship between the two countries is on the upswing with bilateral trade topping $9 billion last year. Trade between the two coutries could exceed $10 billion next year.

Singh, who will be in Germany from April 23 to 25 for stops in Hanover and Berlin, is scheduled to inaugurate this year's Hanover trade fair at which more than 300 Indian companies will showcase Indian innovations.

Premier Singh will be the first head of government of an Asian country to visit Germany since Chancellor Angela Markel took over last year.
