WASHINGTON, April 11 (UPI) -- Mark Harmon says first lady Michelle Obama will appear on a forthcoming episode of NCIS. The 64-year-old actor revealed the news to the Washington Post while leaving the White House on Sunday. Harmon told the publication the 52-year-old first lady will take part in a scene but did not provide further details.

Longtime NCIS director Dennis Smith confirmed he was filming with Obama on Monday. Harmon and co-star Pauley Perrette, who play Jethro Gibbs and Abby Sciuto, were among the stars on location.
"Wonder if @BarackObama will stop by and watch @MichelleObama film her #NCIS scene today?" Smith tweeted.
Obama has previously appeared on the TV series Parks and Recreation, Jessie and Lil Bub's Big Show. President Barack Obama, meanwhile, has appeared on Running Wild with Bear Grylls and MythBusters.
Harmon has played special agent Gibbs since NCIS first premiered in 2003. CBS renewed the series for a 14th and 15th season in February and confirmed Harmon will return at the time.
"It's extraordinary that in its 13th season and with over 300 episodes to its credit, NCIS continues to excel at such a high level on a global scale," CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller said.
"It is testimony to an amazing cast ... for skillfully bringing this universally appealing team of heroes to life," he added.
NCIS recently cast Sarah Clarke and Duane Henry as FBI special agent Tess Monroe and MI-6 agent Clayton Reeves, respectively. The new additions follow word that Michael Weatherly will leave the series after Season 13.
