SILVER SPRING, Md., March 25 (UPI) -- Wendy Williams has a new television venture in the works.

The 50-year-old talk show maven will host new true-crime series Death by Gossip with Wendy Williams on the Investigation Discovery channel. Williams will also executive produce the program, which investigates murders fueled by rumors.

"It's the stuff that happens in towns and cities everywhere, where you've got the principal sleeping with the manager at the local store and she's married -- and it ends in death," she told the New York Post. "They're cases full of gossip, like the game of 'telephone.'"

Investigation Discovery teased the show in a press release Wednesday, saying episodes will take place in "offices, gyms, playgrounds and nosey neighborhoods," and follow a "respected English teacher" in a "Shakespearean tragedy" and a "college kid" in a "twisted love triangle."

"There's nobody better than the darling doyenne of daytime, Wendy Williams, to offer this cautionary tale to those who indulge in chatter and innuendo," Discovery Networks group president Henry Schlieff said. "Death by Gossip proves sticks and stones may break your bones...but words can really kill you."
