The announcement comes days after HBO announced the last two episodes of the series' fourth season and an exclusive preview from the upcoming season will be shown at select IMAX theaters from Jan. 23 through the 29.

The fourth season of GOT saw several of the show's main characters closing old chapters -- Daenerys Targaryen chains her dragons after learning one of them killed a man's young daughter -- while others begin new ones -- Arya Stark is shown boarding a ship headed to Braavos.

The upcoming season will be based in George R.R. Martin's A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons, the fourth and fifth books in his A Song of Ice and Fire series. The show unveiled the first teaser trailer for the season in November.
