Nell Williams cast as young Cersei Lannister on 'Game of Thrones'

LONDON, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Nell Williams has joined the cast of Game of Thrones.

The British actress will portray young Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) on season six of the HBO series. Williams will appear as the character in flashback sequences, and is scheduled for the first three episodes, according to IMDb.

Williams is involved in both theater and television, and had roles in The Audience and Love and Information on stage. She also played Birdy Jess on CBBC sitcom The Revolting World of Stanley Brown.

Game of Thrones is based on the A Song of Ice and Fire book series by George R.R. Martin. The series debuted in 2011, and will premiere a fifth season in the spring. Seasons five and six will be based on novels four and five, A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons.
