NEW YORK, April 23 (UPI) -- Stephen Colbert visited David Letterman on the Late Show for the first time since the announcement that Colbert would be his successor as host.
During the visit, the two comedians took a selfie and Colbert revealed this is the third time he has had the opportunity to work on the Late Show. In 1986, Colbert turned down an internship because it was unpaid. In 1997, he submitted a writing sample but by the time he was called back for an interview he had already signed on to writing Strangers with Candy.
