NEW YORK, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama has been booked to appear on "Late Show with David Letterman" in New York next week, CBS said.

The commander-in-chief, who is seeking re-election, will appear on Tuesday's edition of the late-night chat show.

This will be Obama's seventh visit to the program and his second since he was elected president in 2008. He last appeared on the broadcast Sept. 21, 2009.
