Chenoweth: 'Issue-ridden' from injury

NEW YORK, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Kristin Chenoweth said she is still recovering from an injury sustained in July when lighting equipment on the set of a TV show fell on her head.

In her first TV interview since the incident, which occurred while she was working on "The Good Wife" in New York City's Brooklyn borough, Chenoweth told "Live with Kelly & Michael" she is still "issue-ridden."

"I wear my neck brace on and off," she told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan Friday. "Basically, a big lighting thing fell and hit me. Knocked my face and slammed me into the ground. The back of my head got hit on the curb."

The actress was knocked unconscious and rushed to Bellevue Hospital with a 5 1/2-inch skull fracture.

"I'm out tonight for the first time. I still have some issues, but I'm doing physical therapy now," she said.

The head injury caused Chenoweth to have some difficulties with language, she said.

"I couldn't really form a sentence after it happened," she said. "I'm the queen of multitasking. I'm not so good at that right now. I'll be like, 'Mom, are you talking on the thing that you push ... the phone?'

"That's been interesting, but that's getting better. I'm grateful. It could have been much worse."

Chenoweth, 44, said in August the July 11 injury had forced her to drop out of her recurring role on "The Good Wife."
