Arquette and McLarty break up

LOS ANGELES, March 7 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor and producer David Arquette says he has ended his five-month relationship with "Entertainment Tonight" reporter Christina McLarty.

"Sadly I'm single again," Arquette said via Twitter late Tuesday. "A long distance relationship proved to be too difficult."

Arquette lives in Los Angeles and McLarty is based in New York.

The actor separated from actress Courteney Cox, his wife of 11 years, in 2010. He is best known for his work in the "Scream" film franchise and for competing on TV's "Dancing with the Stars." He now lends his voice to an animated parrot in the series "Jake and the Never Land Pirates."
