Palicki enlists for new 'G.I. Joe' movie

HOLLYWOOD, July 3 (UPI) -- Adrianne Palicki has bounced back from the stalling of the "Wonder Woman" television project with a role in the new "G.I. Joe" movie, the producers announced.

Variety said this weekend Palicki would play Lady Jaye, a commando with a penchant for the crossbow who possibly could have a romance with the character Flint.

Palicki most recently was in "Legion" and had been on deck to play Wonder Woman, but the series of the same name was not picked by NBC. She earlier was a regular on the acclaimed series "Friday Night Lights."

"G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes" is based on the Marvel comic book and is being produced in 3D by Paramount. Other members of the cast include Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson and D.J. Cotrona, who plays Flint.
