LOS ANGELES, July 29 (UPI) -- Actress Jennifer Grey has signed on as a guest star on the U.S. medical drama "House" this fall, a show representative said Thursday.

Grey, 50, is best known for her roles in the 1980s films "Dirty Dancing," "Red Dawn" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

TVGuide.com said the actress will appear in a mid-October episode of "House" as Abbey, a mother faced with a difficult treatment decision when her infant daughter develops symptoms of a fatal illness.
