NEW YORK, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Real-life married couple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are to return to their former U.S. daytime drama "All My Children," it was announced Friday.

Ripa and Consuelos, who are the parents of three children, are to appear on the show's 40th anniversary episodes Jan. 4-5, said Brian Frons, president of daytime for Disney-ABC Television.

This will be the first time either actor has appeared on the show since they left in 2002.

Ripa first joined the cast of "All My Children" in 1990, originating the role of Hayley Vaughan Santos. In 1995, Consuelos made his debut, creating the role of Mateo Santos.

Ripa's current daily TV home, "LIVE! With Regis and Kelly," will cover the couple's return to Pine Valley for an exclusive "first look" that will air on the popular morning talk show in November, ABC said in a release.
