ATLANTA, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Usher's 5-year-old son has been released from an Atlanta hospital after he nearly drowned in his family pool last week, People.com said Tuesday.

Usher Raymond V "is going to be just fine," a source close to the recording artist told the celebrity magazine. "Doctors were taking every precaution to make sure Cinco was OK, but the danger looks like it has passed."

The child was hospitalized Aug. 5 after he caught his arm in a pool drain while trying to retrieve a toy.

Usher won primary custody of his two sons after a bitter custody battle last year with his ex-wife, Tameka Foster.

Foster unsuccessfully tried to regain custody of Cinco and his 4-year-old brother Naviyd following last week's mishap in the pool.
