LOS ANGELES, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Eminem and Lady Antebellum led the field with five nods apiece when nominations for the 2010 American Music Awards were announced Tuesday.

Justin Bieber followed with four nominations for the fan-voted prizes, while B.o.B., Katy Perry, Ke$ha and Usher are each up for three awards.

Competing for the evening's top honor of artist of the year are Bieber, Eminem, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

Bon Jovi, P!nk and Usher have been booked to perform at the 38th annual event, which is to take place at the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.

Additional acts and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks and the show is to air on ABC, organizers said.

"We are happy to congratulate all of the nominees for their accomplishments in 2010. We look forward to an exciting night of music and celebration on Nov. 21," Orly Adelson, executive producer of the show, and Larry Klein, AMA producer, said in a joint statement.
