Elton John in talks to join 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle,' releases new music video

LONDON, April 13 (UPI) -- Elton John is reportedly in talks to join Fox's upcoming spy-action sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, John is in negotiations to play an unspecified role however, it is possible he could just appear in the film as himself.

The film, which will follow the continuing adventures British secret spy Eggsy (Taron Egerton), is set to begin production in London alongside returning director Matthew Vaughn.

The legendary singer would be joining a growing cast that includes Mark Strong, Halle Berry, Julianne Moore and possibly Colin Firth whose character's return was hinted at in a new promotional poster.

The Golden Circle would mark John's first on-screen performance since 1997's Spice World.

On Tuesday, John released a new music video for his latest single "In The Name Of You" from his 32nd studio album, Wonderful Crazy Night. The track pays homage to 1970s with the video featuring a grainy collection of Super 8 camera footage featuring road trips, diners and roller coasters.
