LOS ANGELES, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- The romantic comedy drama "Silver Linings Playbook" won best picture at the Second Annual Australia Academy of Cinema and Television Arts International Awards.

The film also won David O. Russell an award for best directing and Jennifer Lawrence the best lead actress, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Five AACTA awards that went to international films were announced Saturday at a ceremony at Soho House in Los Angeles.

Daniel Day-Lewis also received a prize for best lead actor for his performance in "Lincoln" and Quentin Tarantino won the award for best screenplay for "Django Unchained."

"The AACTA International Awards are Australia's international stamp of screen success. They recognize our international counterparts, add an Australian voice to international Academy discussion, and celebrate our fellow Australians working internationally. I'm delighted that this, our second Awards season in the U.S. through the new Australian Academy, has continued the success of our launch a year ago, and I thank our American peers for embracing Australia's AACTA Awards so enthusiastically," AACTA president Geoffrey Rush said at the ceremony.
