Russell Brand arrested in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, March 15 (UPI) -- British comedian Russell Brand turned himself in to New Orleans police after hearing a warrant was issued for his arrest, officials said Thursday.

TMZ said the "Arthur" star and ex-husband of singer Katy Perry is accused of grabbing a paparazzo's cellphone and throwing it through the window of a law firm Monday.

The photographer got his phone back and Brand agreed to pay for the window, but the warrant was still issued for his arrest. The celebrity news Web site said Brand was released on $5,000 bond Thursday.
