'Iron Man' keeps grip on No. 1 spot

LOS ANGELES, May 17 (UPI) -- "Iron Man 2" was No. 1 at the North American box office for a second weekend, raking in an estimated $53 million, Rentrak said.

The hit sequel, which was released May 7, has earned more than $212 million at U.S. and Canadian theaters.

Coming in at No. 2 for the weekend of May 14-16 is director Ridley Scott and actor Russell Crowe's new take on a well-worn legend, "Robin Hood," with $37 million, followed by the romance "Letters to Juliet" at No. 3 with $13.8 million, the Queen Latifah vehicle "Just Wright" at No. 4 with $8.5 million and the animated tale "How to Train Your Dragon" at No. 5 with $5.1 million, Rentrak reported Sunday.

Rounding out the weekend's top 10 are "A Nightmare on Elm Street" at No. 6 with $4.7 million, "Date Night" at No. 7 with $4 million, "The Back-Up Plan" at No. 8 with $2.5 million, "Furry Vengeance" at No. 9 with $2.3 million and "Clash of the Titans" at No. 10 with $1.3 million.
