J.K. Rowling, Amy Schumer have friendly Twitter exchange to fans' delight

EDINBURGH, Scotland, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Fans saw "worlds collide" on Tuesday as Amy Schumer and J.K. Rowling had a pleasant exchange on Twitter following Schumer's Edinburgh show.

Rowling tweeted that she enjoyed seeing Schumer perform live that evening, and included a heart and laughing/crying emoji.

"Just seen the goddess that is @amyschumer live in Edinburgh. What a night," she said.

Schumer responded, "Thank you so much! Did you like my sister's gryffindor hat?!"

Schumer's sister Kim is reportedly frequently photographed wearing a yellow and red beanie, which are the colors of Hogwarts' Gryffindor house.

Rowling told Schumer, "I *loved* the Gryffindor hat."

Fans immediately joined Schumer and Rowling's conversation with praise for the two women, with one fan saying "worlds are colliding right now."
