NEW YORK, June 29 (UPI) -- Hilary Duff doesn't need the perfect bathing suit body, she said on Today Wednesday. Being a mom is job number one.

Duff, who has a 4-year-old son named Luca, said becoming a mother changed her life completely.

"He only makes every day matter so much more and the joy that I feel, the purpose, everything is so much more heightened. It's just, he's really amazing," Duff said, in promoting her hosting role at a recent Stella Artois event.

That new role also brings with it much worry, Duff said. "You're always worrying," she said. "Everyone wants their kids' lives to go perfectly, which is obviously not possible all the time. But it's so fun. I'm so lucky."

Duff said she looks forward to visiting the beach with Luca this summer, but is not at all worried about how she'll look in a swimsuit.

"I don't care to look absolutely perfect in a bathing suit. I'm a normal girl. I'm strong. I'm fit. I feel good about myself after I've had a baby."

Just last week, Duff was spotted with her personal trailer, Jason Walsh.

The 28-year-old actress was linked again to Walsh this week after being spotted with the trainer in New York. The pair had first sparked dating rumors in the spring.

Duff and her date both wore black hats as they enjoyed a stroll Monday in Soho. The actress was dressed in a striped top and jean shorts, while Walsh sported jeans and a t-shirt.

Duff, who stars in the TVLand series Younger, is about to start her third season on the show.
