Hilary Duff shares glamour shot throwback photo

LOS ANGELES, April 8 (UPI) -- Hilary Duff delighted fans by sharing a glamour shot photo Thursday on social media.

The 28-year-old actress posted a throwback picture of herself smiling broadly in a fur stole and diamond earrings, writing, "#glamourshots #thanksmom #1993 #tb."

The incredible photo was taken years before Duff landed her starring role in the 1998 movie Casper Meets Wendy. The actress started her career in local theater productions and later modeled in print and television ads.

"It was like modeling for bad department stores, but I loved it!" Duff recalled in the Australian magazine Girlfriend in 2007. "Then when I saw my picture in the paper I was like, 'Wow, that's me!"

Duff went on to star on Disney Channel sitcom Lizzie McGuire and has since appeared on Ghost Whisperer, Gossip Girl and Two and a Half Men. She presently portrays Kelsey Peters on the TV Land series Younger.

"As torturous as it has been at some points in my life to be Lizzie McGuire, I think that when that show came out, it was such a part of who I was, I didn't feel like I was playing a part," the actress told PrideSource in 2015.

"The writers all knew me so well and were writing things that were happening in my life and things that I would say, and I was dressing exactly like I wanted," she elaborated. "It was so me."

Younger co-stars Sutton Foster, Debi Mazar and Miriam Shor and was renewed for a third season in January. The series follows a recently divorced mom (Foster) who starts work at a publishing firm after getting a makeover.
