Demi Lovato goes makeup-free for date night

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Demi Lovato went makeup-free on her date night with boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama on Monday.

The 23-year-old singer shared a photo with the 36-year-old actor from the occasion on Instagram, explaining Valderrama likes her best when she's bare-faced.

"I'm so in love with this man," she gushed in the caption. "I went makeup free on a super romantic date we had because that's when he thinks I'm the prettiest. So in honor of #NMM and Valentine's Day coming up, I wanted to share this silly/makeup free moment with you all."

Lovato and Valderrama celebrated their six-year anniversary in January. The singer denied she and the actor are engaged on Wednesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, but said she "wouldn't mind" if Valderrama proposed.

"There's time for everything," she tempered. "We've been together this long and obviously I'm not going anywhere."

Lovato, who struggled with an eating disorder and substance abuse issues for years, previously credited Valderrama with helping to keep her healthy. She told DeGeneres in the interview the Kardashians also inspired her to embrace her looks.

"When the Kardashians came on the scene, that's the first time I really associated curves with beauty," Lovato said. "Even in a time when I was still struggling with food I was able to look at Kim's curves and be like, 'I should really be proud of my curves.'"

Lovato last released Confident in October, and will kick off her Future Now tour with Nick Jonas on June 24. Valderrama plays Carlos Madrigal on From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, which was renewed for a third season in the fall.
