LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning actor Pat Harrington Jr. has died after a battle with Alzheimer's disease, his family announced. He was 86.
A former member of Steve Allen's TV comedy troupe The Men on the Street, along with Don Knotts and Tom Poston, Harrington is perhaps best known for playing flirty, Indianapolis building superintendent Dwayne Schneider on the sitcom One Day at a Time, which co-starred Bonnie Franklin and Valerie Bertinelli.
