Courtney Love pens emotional message to Kurt Cobain

"Makes me feel so sad," the singer captioned a throwback family photo.

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Courtney Love penned an emotional message to late husband Kurt Cobain on Friday.

The 51-year-old singer shared a family photo of herself with the Nirvana frontman and their only child, Frances Bean Cobain, days after celebrating their daughter's birthday. Frances Bean was 20 months old when Cobain died, and turned 23 on August 18.

"Makes me feel so sad," Love captioned the picture on Instagram. "Our baby is all grown up now. Jesus Kurt look at her face, what on earth were you thinking..!?!? God I miss you, we all miss you #family #memories #turnbacktime #love him."

Love and Cobain married in Honolulu, Hawaii, in February 1992, and welcomed Frances Bean in August of that year. The couple's relationship was often troubled, and the Nirvana frontman killed himself at age 27 in April 1994.

Love is best known as the frontwoman for Hole, and released her first and only solo album, America's Sweetheart, in February 2004. She has since portrayed Ms. Harrison on Sons of Anarchy and Elle Dallas on Empire, and is scheduled for The Long Home with James Franco.
