TORONTO, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Two people were confirmed dead after shots were fired in and around a nightclub hosting Drake's OVO Festival after-party late Monday night.

According to reports, the victims were a man and a woman in their 20s and 30s. It is unclear whether or not Drake was present at the Muzik nightclub at the time of the shooting, as it happened toward the end of the celebration. At least three others were wounded and hospitalized.

Police Superintendent Frank Bergen told reporters the attack was "sporadic," and there were three separate crime scenes. Homicide detectives are reportedly carrying on the investigation with the police's assistance.

"We're satisfied at this point that the organization involved was doing their best and this did occur at approximately 3:30 a.m. as things were shutting down for the evening," Bergen said of the present security detail at the large event, which was a final ode to this year's OVO Festival.

"This is all unfolding now and we're doing our investigation," Bergen said.
