Christie Brinkley shares photo with daughter Alexa Ray Joel

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Christie Brinkley took to Instagram to share photos with daughter Alexa Ray Joel this week.

The 60-year-old model and 29-year-old singer celebrated the latter's birthday Dec. 29 in Turks and Caicos. Brinkley posted a number of pictures with Joel from the tropical locale, including a snapshot of the pair in their bikinis.

"Having Fun in the Sun with our Birthday Girl Alexa Ray!" she captioned the photo. "Happy Birthday @alexarayjoel."

Brinkley set up an elaborate poolside birthday dinner for her daughter, and the party later celebrated with a bonfire on the beach. Joel's half-sister, Sailor Brinkley Cook, and boyfriend, Ryan Gleason, were also in attendance.

Joel is Brinkey's daughter by second husband Billy Joel. The model and 65-year-old singer were married from 1985 to 1994. Joel followed in her father's footsteps by pursing music, and was in residence at The Carlyle hotel in April.
