LONDON, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Lindsay Lohan is trying to make Mean Girls 2 happen.

The 28-year-old actress, who played the lead role in the beloved 2004 comedy, told Time Out London she'd be willing to participate in a sequel.

"People really love the movie: how do you top that? I was with [writer] Tina Fey the other day and I said we should do another 'Mean Girls,' like an older version where they're all housewives and they're all cheating," she said. "That would be really funny. I'll harass Tina to write it."

While a Mean Girls 2 film already exists, the TV movie starred Meaghan Jette Martin and came out in 2011, Fey addressed the possibility of writing another installment of the teen drama for the stage in 2013.

Pressed about a possible sequel ahead of the film's 10th anniversary in April of this year Fey said, "We're all past high-school age."

Lohan is currently starring in David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow in London's West End. The production began Wednesday and will run through Nov. 29.
